Even if your starting with ZERO money.

Hi, My name is Allan Mungai. I’m the Co-Founder & CEO at leadbenk and I’m gonna try not to sell you anything. LOL

Have fun.

There’s a phase in start up businesses where you have a budget constraint and a mountain to conquer — enrolling new client.

So how do you prospect & enroll new clients?

If your businesses are internet based like mine, then all you need is some discipline to sit down on you butt and be prepared to put in the hours. You’ve got that, great where do you start?

Personal connections — Friends, Family & Stranger

Getting those first clients is important, before you can think of spending time & energy outside, first exhaust your means within. That means, ask people close to you like friends, family members and people who seem familiar to you. This can be said for both online and offline…

In short it’s a networking game. Find this people and ASK them what you want (a little advice, be relatable they are not bots).

If you ask and get a No. Pat yourself on the back for having the courage in the first place. Then if you can, follow up with a second question asking them to tell you somebody else they know who might be able to help you. Most times people will gladly do.

If you’re afraid of asking because you’re an introvert. It’s okay, write your question down and send it inform of texts, direct messages on social, or even letters as long as you ask.

Do this and you’ve exhausted your personal connections and want to expand your network, here’s what to you can do next?

Research Contacts on Review Sites

Yap, go to Google or Bing and look for review sites related to where your potential clients might be featured. For me at this time of writing is course creators, So finding review sites has helped me get the results faster because all the classification and detailing has already been made by someone else(Bless them).

And all I got to do is seek the creator’s name and do a little profiling whether on social media, or personal website and boom 9 out of 10 contacts are available like an email address or a phone number for use. How fun right?

Next,

Use Social Media & blogs/webistes

Use the search engine feature inside the site to gather info based on the keyword your searching for to find for potential prospect’s profiles. Gather the prospect’s contact and message him/her about your proposition.

If you search and don’t find

If you search and don’t find, decide whether to keep searching for more profiles, or change your prospecting strategy. The ones I’ve outlined in this article should be enough to get started.

Hope this helped, Cheers ;-)

Allan.
